I am wondering how everyone found this web site. I was in search for information on the Boundary waters canoe area and just Googled "BWCA" and came across it. Who else came across it accidentally and if not accidentally how did you find it? Just curious!

Pretty sure I found it like the others did - probably by a Google search. Didn't spend a lot of time on here until the last year or so. Found it to be a great bulletinboard with lots of knowledgeable posters.

Hey knothead,
No actually, the site came up with just a for sale sign with a box to make a bid. After a week or so of upping my bid, I finally bought the domain through escrow from a person holding it in Russia or the Ukraine. I can't recall which now. The domain was actually once owned by a guy in Ely who must have let it expire. You can see the whole history at the very cool Way back Machine site:

I found it by talking with a new coworker, long time BWCA enthusiast and current bwca.com member. Glad he pointed me in this direction!!

Looked at the site many, many times in the past. Kick myself now I didn't 'get hooked' earlier. Met some far out people who respect nature and want pass on the saying 'leave the campsite cleaner than when we came' to my boyz.
Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.

I'm pretty sure I was searching google to try and find the site to get permits, well I saw this and was hooked.
Thank goodness I found this site. It helped me outfit my first trip and has helped me to get better at it each time I tried.

Have been on the canoecountry site for years, and when this one started someone posted a reference to it so I checked it out. So now I visit this one too. Different formats, different advantages, but mostly similar subject matter and both are excellent sites.

google... about 4 years ago looking for info on my first trip. My old name was "rookie". I completely forgot about it, I hadn't been on here for some time and made a new name without realizing I had one.
