I thought about posting this in the post for REI giving 20% to members but decided not to high jack the post.
I always shop around for my gear and do like REI but they didn't have the tent I was looking for but Altrec did so I ended up getting a new Mountain Hardwear light wedge 2 and the foot print to go with it for $155.00 shipped to my door. Ya it's last years model but the only difference is the color and frankly I like the bluefin over the new tan they are making this year. When I went to checkout the guys I can give you and extra 20% off on that order...I damn near said what :) Who was I to argue!
Anyone with experience with the tent? From the reviews I could find I decided I could sacrafice the extra lb for what seems to be a well built respected tent...Especially considering the price I got it for.
that's a really good deal...i had (i'm a gearaholic and like to try out different stuff) the light wedge 3 and really liked it. down side would be the single door/vestibule which can be difficult to get in and out of if you fill the vest with a bunch of gear. any 2 man tent is cozy for 2 but not prohibitively small. i was really impressed with the durability and construction of the tent. also didn't seem to have too many doohickies liable to break. Mountain Hardwear might be a little more "trendy" now but I have always thought of their stuff and gear for real outdoorspeople, not posers.

and into the forest I go to lose my mind and find my soul
I picked up a used light wedge 3 at the scratch & dent sale. I agree w/snowman. The construction is great quality and the walls don't angle in as much as my last tent. Overall, it has been an upgrade from my last tent.
I have owned a light wedge 3 for years, amongst many other tents. This is still my favorite by far. Simple settup, roomy interior, GREAT GEAR LOFT, and virtually indestructible. I usually go with two bigger guys in this tent and the single door is not an issue, Vestibule is usually only for boots anyway. Love the big window in the front door too!
