I have come across a bright yellow sawyer canoe. It has fixed position seats and looks to only have had one thwart. I would like to know some more info about my boat and where I may find some replacement thwarts, a portage yoke, and some end caps. Any help would be appreciated! not sure if there is a list of models with pictures i could compare to!

Working on photos, no hull id, I've scoured the internet and haven't been able to find any cone with the same set up as mine. the seats are mounted in a fixed location on a glass box, maybe foam filled? Canoe is a sinker.

Is it 16 foot? I think it might be in the Au Sable line of canoes that Sawyer built to sell in K-Mart type stores in the 1970s. They were not that bad paddling, but heavy and cheaply constructed. The tanks under the seats are flotation as there is no other visible flotation present. I've never seen one with a keel before. The myth that a boat would be tippy without a keel may have forced them to add it to their low end canoes.

Sawyer is long gone, probably due to expanding into the low end of the market with boats like this one. You can certainly get thwart and yoke material at local lumber yards. You'll have to get creative with the end caps.

its an 18 foot boat, definitely not heavy i can easily lift it overhead by myself. I see here the AuSable was 85 lbs, not sure if mine weighs that much haha

Post the hull identification number. Someone may be able to I'd the model.

It doesn't look to be in terrible shape. Some fiberglass repair will fix the hull.

The caps and yoke don't need to be Sawyer. Any brand will do so long as they fit.

I've never seen those seat boxes before.
