Been a productive first day of Thanksgiving break:
Cut down a 42t Red Cedar, got 3 - 8'6 logs to sell, and a nice pole then burned the rest of the brush,

Built our youngest son a full sized bed frame,

Built me a backrest for the Wilderness, and

Made about 3 gallons of vegetable soup with vegetables we grew!

Been a good day!!

No it doesn't fold while it is on the seat, only when you take it off. However this was just my first attempt. I will build another that folds down when you portage. Although I used it this morning on my Thanksgiving Day paddle of 6 miles or so and it was very nice to have. It did exactly what I wanted it to do!! Took me about 2 hours to 6 miles paddling easy with the 7 degree.

Best thing about the backrest, I had all the material except for about 30 inches of straping I had to buy! Less than $3.00 total!

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Nice piece of handiwork. What did you use to attach the strapping?
