Describe a finger protector. A splint? A wrap? A ... ?

My buddy had to wear a splint-type thing froma "hammer" injury. Hios finger just sort of bent when grabbing a pack. I think he said it was a ruotured tendon.

No pain, but his finger wouldn't straighten out. He wore it for 2 months and it was nearly straight after that. "Good enough" he said, "Better than surgery".
