Heading in to the Basswood river on the 6th (entry point 23). Looking for any up to date information on fishing, places to go, tricks to try, water levels, etc. Will be base camping somewhere between the falls.

Not tremendously accurate, but I ran a graph that showed weather stations departure from normal rainfall for the past month.

Duluth came in at +1" so slightly above normal and Hibbing came in at -0.6" so just the other side of normal. Neither is real close to the border...

Below wheelbarrow falls and lower basswood falls are the best two spots IMO. Fish the eddies between the two falls in Crooked lake at LBF. That is the best spot. Use an anchor, fish for twenty minutes, no action, move one cast away, anchor again, repeat as necessary. Fish are in the eddies, looking at the current edges. Big ones in there sometimes. Big area to fish, the current goes way out, move around if no action.

BUMP!!! Leave tomorrow first thing! Excited to get the lines wet on Saturday afternoon some where on the basswood river! Any last minute info out there?

Keep your life jacket on fishing in that area.
