First let me start by saying I have never been to the BWCA however have always wanted to. I will be going from 8/26 to 8/30. I thoroughly enjoy fishing and really look forward to fishing while there. We will hopefully be getting a spot on Fairy so any information you can share on Fish in Fairy and or the body of water would be greatly appreciated. As Gun is right there as well anything you could offer on Gun will be much appreciated. I am all ears, thank you in advance for any advice or knowledge you can share.

My son and I may run into you then. We hope to score a spot there toward the end of the week...

Been a few times to that area, did not fish Fairy. Did well on evening and early am walleye bite on Gun. Gull was a good day lake for smallies. Released a 23" smb. Guessing they will be hitting topwaters still. Caught it pike fishing on lucky 13

I stayed at a nice site on Gun last year at this time. It is straight to the right of the portage entry--way over to the right. Very nice, good rock ledge for walking out for swimming and good fishing there too. Good luck!

Went there in August of 14. Did not fish Fairy. Stayed on Gull. Fished Gun - without much success. We stayed on Gull and had no reason to leave. Caught lots of Walleyes and big smallmouth off the island left of the portage from gun.

We stayed on the east side of Fairy back in May. There is a natural "live well" at that site.
We accidently left our bait bucket in there - and I'm sure someone else has scooped it up by now - but if not - you're welcome to have it....

Fishing in the narrows of Gun.

I've also heard great things about Gull.

Camped on Fairy for 3 nights in May. Campsite on east end of lake is nicest of the 2 on the lake. Fairy holds some decent walleye, as does Boot. I would camp on Fairy or Gull.

Gun is a hit or miss fishing lake for many, but Gull seems to be a consistent producer.

I agree about Gun being on/off. It can be good, or not so good in my experience. I'd stick to Boot, Fairy, or Gull for fishing. As far as sites, plenty of those to go around and already some good recommendations.
