As far as the leaders go, we fish for walleyes and northerns and use primarily 9" steel leaders rated for 20#. Maybe a 12" if that's what we grab first. Can't imagine needing anything close to 100#. What weight line do you use?

8 lb. line most of the time. I looked at Cabela's website and they had the leader listed at 100 lb. test. I did not see any less, must have missed them. I will look for 20 lb. Should they have a swivel or be solid? Thanks or the help.

Unless I'm targeting huge pike or muskies, I see no need in any leader over 10" long and over 20 or 30 lbs.
Most of the ones I use are 6-8" long and 15-20 lbs. No reason to use a 100lb leader if I have 10 lb line. They can't bite through the wire, nearly regardless of the lb test. Why use 100lb leader when your line will break at 8?
