Just wondering what are your favorite colors for little cleos. Mine is chartreuse/silver. I have at least another 3-4 color combos in various sizes but will be buying some new ones for my spring trout trip, and was interested in what others consider their secret trout slaying cleo color. Hopefully I can broaden my selection.

Thanks,

Moonman.

I like the blue and silver and also the plain gold and the plain silver. But those are probably already in your arsenal Moonman. Not to hijack your post but for Mepps I love the black with yellow spots with a tail. Where are you heading this spring?

blue and silver. I had one once that was sort of pearl-colored that I loved, but thee is a chance it wasn't really a cleo.

Green and Silver caught me quite a few walleyes on the Sauk River the last few years. Also can't keep the pike off 'em.

The black mepps with yellow spots is the Black Fury, also one of my favorites. I used to do a lot of spin fishing for stream trout as a teenager, and that was one of my most productive lures. These days all my stream fishing is with the fly rod.

Yeah, I have blue and silver as well. Good color. I am thinking about maybe the bue/silver hammered version.

My spring trip is always to Algonquin Park. This year we are doing a basecamp trip on Manitou Lake, which is in the northwest corner of the park. Its always been a travel through lake for us, and we always pick up a couple lakers on the way. Its an early May trip so we'll have to see what happens with the ice.

I have 3 of them, new to me so no fish from them. The ever famous silver/blue, firetiger, and yellow/5 red dots. I bought them because everyone here says they are great. I have big plans for them this summer.

Blue/Silver for me, smooth and bubbly (no idea what the proper term is)

I've always bought the orange & silver and had REAL good luck with the lakers. I'll try the Blue & silver this year and compare.

Back when Rapala had the jigging spoon the "Clown" color (silver, chartreuse with red tip) worked great!

So I already have all the colors mentioned (and a coule not mentioned), except for two. Maybe my problem is that I only ever use my favorites. I will have to pick up and try the hammered blue/silver andthe rainbow trout. Keep those suggestions coming though.

Those are exactly my top three as well! Though not in that order. One cor no one has mentioned is the 'perch'. It is a dark gold/'brown, with small black marks along the edges of one side. I picked one up 7-8 years ago, thinking it would be dynamite, but haven't caught a fish on it. Don't even bring it anymore.

The blue and silver, green and silver. I like the Krocodiles too, plus Champs.

Yep, I also like crocodiles. I mainly use Mr Champs through the ice. Maybe I should try them in open water more often. Incidentally for my spring trip this year I packed a northland macho minnow and a buckshot spoon. They were deadly this season ice fishing, and the Macho minnows are basically like Mr Champs, only with nicer color patterns and a glow in the dark side. Could be good for deep jigging.

Just checked them out. They really do have better patterns.

Orange/silver, blue/silver, and chartreuse/silver.
My favorites were from years ago with the original logo on back! Since then they are more kid friendly..
