Air,
I will be hitting Wood a few days before you for the 2nd year in a row. From my experience last Aug. I would say come prepared for anything. We caught Smallies, Walleye, Northerns and even a Perch. We used leeches, spinners and Rapalas and all were productive. From my experience, the Smallies are of nice size while everything else we caught was on the medium to small range. The weather looks to be cooler this year so I don't know what effect that will have, but there are fish there.

Great fishing on Wood Lake, I would expect to catch fish. Sorry no recent fishing report from me though

We were on Basswood a click or two north of there last week. Almost nothing from shoreline structure, but did OK out on main lake structure. Wood can be good.

We were there 3 weeks ago. Stayed on Good with day trips to Indiana and Basswood. Caught bass on Indiana. Pike in Hoyst Bay. And lots of fish (bass, pike and walleye) in the narrows on Good. Used both live bait and lures and caught about the same on both.
