Two friends and I have a house rented in Samburg Tn. for the 6th,7th and 8th of April. If anyone is interested in crappie fishing Reelfoot send me an e-mail. The house sleeps ten and the price is 450.00 for the lodging for the 3 days for up to ten people. If you need a boat it will be more. If you can make it to Avon,In. you can use my boat for no charge. The more people the cheaper. Pretty good fishin in April.

You have my undivided attention, but the question is how big are the crappies. I can get them two pounders in Minnesota, im looking for the 3 pound slabs.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Big Cats in there too, me thinks.

Been there a few times and the slabs are abundant. That is prime time to go too. Up until a few years ago it was one of the few or only place(s) that still allowed commercial crappie netting. With the sunken fields and fencerows from the earthquake; it is prime crappie breeding environment. Watch those old fencerows if they happen to drop the dam level overnight. Some nice bass near the reeds too! Eagles as well.

BP never caught a 3 pounder, still tryin though. Do have a 2.25 on the wall. That would be my best. I have crappie fished in Mn. and did very well. Just a little too far to drive for a weekend.

I am going to give this some serious thought. I'm only 6 hours away and was looking for a spring trip. I'll see if I can talk my fishing buddy into coming along. I do like catching crappies.

Tony...Just so you know, my oldest son and brother-in-law were at Reelfoot this fall. Due to the drought, the water was so low that it was impossible to launch a boat. They could not reach fishable water without slogging through a 100 yards of muck.

I would be interested in doing this. Hopefully the water levels will be close to normal by April. Good idea to check before final plans are made.

Thanks for the heads up Andy. Didn't realize that. Of course we were not told that when we rented the house. I'LL KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THE WATER LEVELS. BTW I did send you an invite via e-mail.

I'm not sure I could hold that stringer up. I would be like "hurry up and take the damn picture."

Too bad my uncle lives over 200 miles to the west in Harrison AR. It could have given me an excuse.
