This might be the model number - 6X1447050
Does anyone use this reel? Any comments on it?
I picked one up at Cabellas Friday morning. Seems like a pretty nice baitcaster. I'm looking forward to using it this coming summer.

I am not familiar with this reel but am intrigued by it. The 'twitching bar' looks as if it could be a great tool. How exactly does it work? Is it spring loaded? Looks like it could be good for jig fishing craws for bass.

I have not dug into this since I bought it. I have a schematic in the box but have not looked yet. How does it work? Well, push down on it and it springs back into place and reels a few inches in as it is springing back. I am unsure where the spring is right now. After it is pushed in it ratchets the spool somehow.
I did talk to a couple people at Cabellas and I was told that these things had some problems when they first came out a few years ago but have supposedly been fixed and refined so I am hoping to have a trouble-free reel. It better be for the price.
I am hoping it should be pretty decent for jigging. I suppose it really isn't any better than jigging the tip of the rod.
After I dig into it a bit more I'll get back if I find out exactly how it is working.

I have this reel, and have used it for two seasons. I'm mostly a walleye guy and don't have much experience with a baitcaster. This was my "I want to like baitcasters" purchase, but I'm still not sure that I do. I use it for a few different presentations. I wanted to have a crankbait casting combo so I have it on a crankbait rod, but I just find I am not very satisfied with the casting distance (could be me), and it doesn't seem to do well on anything sized less than a DT-6 (me again?). I even upgraded to boca abec 7 orange seal bearings to get a few extra feet in my casting distance. That said, I love this reel for trolling bouncers and long lining crankbaits. I put on powerpro depthhunter braid which has colored segments just for this purpose and it works great. With the twitching bar I can let out line and reel up short amounts with one hand. This last summer I caught my two largest walleyes on this combo - a 27" and 27.75". It's a fun reel to catch fish with.

Just wondering, what sort of jigging do you use a baitcaster for? I always jig for walleyes with a spinning reel, but a baitcaster might be nice for jigging lakers from deeper waters.
