Welcome to the board!

I'm planning on trolling some taildancers and minnow raps as I head through Sag!

I am heading out on Sag June 10th also, where u headed?

I usually dont bother fishing Sag, so big and waves make it hard...i dont know where to start either...ive tried a couple times and the only luck i have is on the far east side by the campsites almost in canadian waters. north of sag falls, but all we got were nice smallies, no eyes.

I am also heading in on Saganaga on Sunday, June 10th. Where is everyone going? Any advice would also be greatly appreciated! This is my second trip... Pretty excited!

Saganaga is my favorite lake...do you know where you are going to camp? Using a Canoe or Outboard?

I have an outboard.
My thought was the west end. Maybe camping around the Loon Island area.
Thinking that area could be good for trout and then try red rock bay for eyes.
At Savant Lake in Canada I caught alot of trout on a red and white smaller size swim whiz and Williams spoons. If they are at 30 feet or so I should be able to get down that deep.
I'm hoping to go back in late Sept.

Keep your presentations simple, Jig or plain hook.

My experience is that during this time of year the walleyes are going to be more plentiful around the windy points of the main lake islands.

You’ll need bigger jigs 1/4oz or larger to fish these.

Colors are the same you would use for any stained water lake.

You should also give James Bay a try in the evenings with slip bobbers.

My bait preference would be; leeches, crawlers and minnows in that order.

Start shallow and use your trolling motor to work perpendicular to shore deeper until you find fish.

Small Mouth and Northerns should be an easy catch in Red Rock maybe a little early for top water, but give it a try, husky jerks, and hornets, or mepps type spinners.

Lake Trout are probably moving deep, especially during the day, my first choice would be to fish the drop off’s just east of American point with big blue tube jigs or spoons.

I would rig yourself up a buoyant throwable canoe tow rig, hardly a year goes by that we don’t rescue someone pinned down or flipped in the big Saganaga waves.
