Just got out of perent lake last night. Fishing was pretty good. Lots of small eyes...but plenty of "fryers"! Bugs were not overally bad! Wind really kept them at bay. Found myself taking a nice swim on friday afternoon. The earliest i can ever remember taking a dip in a Mn lake! be prepepard for lots of trafic. Was surprised to see a burning ban in place when we got back...was no restrictions when we left. Does anybody know what the rules are pertaing to burning restrictions? Obviously there is no way to know if there is one when your out there. are you grandfathered? is it the Forest service responsibility to have someone to come out and tell you?

If your permit allows a fire you can have one even if a burning ban is put in place after you depart. If the rangers show up at your campsite they will advise you of the burning ban and change your permit to note so. Let common sense prevail though, as it doesn't take but a spark to start a forest fire.
