I am going into fourtown and horse the end of may looking for any fishing tips, such as hot spots , bait ,and lures that may be good, good campsites with good fishing on either lake.

Stay shallow and look for running water, inlets preferably .

I would try to check out some of the trip reports for the area, you can sometimes find a few nuggets there.

Here are a couple of links to check out, one trip report with some interesting info, maybe a sunken island? and what sounds like a nice campsite, and an old logging camp to explore. Plus the map on this site which has 11 fishing spots marked on Horse lake and 3 on fourtown. Those would be good places to start.

I fished horse this past fall. I started in the first bay with all the dead heads and didn't leave the entire day. I caught many walleyes trolling through the bay and hooked and lost a 15lb+ northern. Be careful not to get hooked on the dead heads just below the surface of the water. There are obviously many other spots on the lake to fish. Also, try fishing just north of the 2nd campsite on the east side of the lake. There are a few boulders there where I caught a few decent northerns.
