Hey everbody, I'm looking for some fishing advice. Planning a trip in early September at one of the above EPs. Have looked and all still have permits for the day our group is planning on heading in. Since the DNR website is down that lists what kind of fish these lakes would have, wondering if anybody has some advice or have fished some of the lakes around any of the 3 entry points? Wondering if the fishing was good at any, and what kind of fish you were catching.

The group I'm going with is made up of people who have different levels of experience fishing and fishing is not our main goal for this trip but I'm sure we we'll do plenty of fishing also. Any suggestions would be appeciated, no need to tell any hotspots just if the fishing in generally good or bad on certain lakes, or what lakes would be better to try out.

Last year we entered 49 Skipper and basecamped on Banadad. We only fished Banadad and had decent luck on Smallies and we caught some small northern. We camped at the island site on the far western end of Banadad and caught most of our fish around that island including from shore at the campsite. Rush has a good reputation for smallies and I think northern. Skipper is the only one in that stretch with walleye.

A great thing about that stretch of lakes is that even though it's close to an entry point there were not many people around. On the way in every campsite was open to Banadad and we were the only ones camped on Banadad during our stay. We only saw a total of 1 other group each day of our trip. And our trip was during August so it could be real quiet there in Sept.

If I were you I would enter at ep 52. I've traveled through there a couple times. Both Bat and Gillis are quality lakes. Lake trout and northern are to be expected. I believe the nearest lake with walleyes is Round, which isn't in the bwca, but the fishing is excellent. Gillis is a beautiful lake with a cliff of 40' or so, that you can jump if desired. Anyway any other questions, let me know.

Thanks for the advice guys. We've Been to Horse Shoe Lake and to some of the lakes to the south of that lake so it's good to get some advice in the area we are thinking of going since we haven't been there before.
