My brother and I are putting in on Kawishwi Lake and going in to Malberg, Kawishwi River area. We are staying for a week so we have time to explore. I've been to this area before but never went past Malberg. I know there are different opinions and this whole area is great for fishing but right now were weighing 3 options for directions past Malberg. They are: Pan and Panhandle lakes small but heard the fishing was legit, Adams lake, or over to Alice. So I guess I'm just curious about everyones opinions/advice on which option seems best. We are big fishers so thats a priority.

I was there last week.
We stayed two days on Malberg and went on to Alice for two days.
On the way in all reports from people was that the fishing was not good. Within the first 10 minutes of fishing I caught two walleye at the north side of the island where the lake first Ts - after that it was so windy we couldn't fish - even with a drift sock. Next day we caught several nice smallies at the rapids coming in from Koma.
We went on to Alice and didn't catch a thing. I am no slouch when it comes to fishing. We had minnows, leeches, plastics, rapalas. I used my depth-finder and saw them in 6 to 30 feet of water.
Like I posted before (see the thread on "Weather \ Fishing reports"
) I think it was due to the unstable weather and mayfly hatch. Hopefully it will improve for you.

I have not been to the others lakes mentioned, but Alice is an incredible walleye fishery...and the sand beaches aren't to shabby either :)

Well it sucked while we were there... but we were on a 5 star site on the east side.

Fisher Lake, northwest of Malberg is supposed to be loaded with Largemouth Bass. Can't confirm, but if I hada day to kill in my favorite area, I might give her a shot. And you get to pass through Beaver lake, which is in my opinion one of the prettiest lakes up there, really nice campsite on the south end too.
Who I am precedes what I do, not the other way around.

We're leaving this Sunday from home but we'll be putting in first thing monday morning around sunrise on Kawishwi lake and we were wanting to go to Koma or malberg the first day and then just kinda take our time on the way back if the fishing is good we'll stay an extra day and stuff like that. I just don't know where to go for sure after malberg. I'm leaning towards Adams but I was just wondering what everyone thought about those 3 options. My brother is "smalltown" on here and is 17 and I'm 19 but I've been up there 7 times and him 5 I think so we can just wing it too. Thanks for the thought guys!

Yeah if we were to go to Adams Lake which is where I'm leaning towards we'd go right through those lakes I think otherwise we can definently check them out. Thanks for the info bumabu!!!

My vote would be for Pan, and then fish some of the area of the river north of Malberg. Second would be for the Kawishiwi River rapids emptying into Lake Alice. It has to produce sooner or later, and then the two rapids areas between Fishdance and Malberg. Last would be Adams for fishing. I don't think Adams is a viable walleye lake, and the DNR survey bears this out. The stairs/wall portage between Adams and Beaver is awesome though.

No depth finder but we'll have contour maps of each lake we'll be visiting? Why just asking? I'm sure its helpful for the big lakes. Leaving in 3 days!!! :)
