Just wondering if anyone else is having problems moving their big fish houses this year. I took a risk and pulled my just completed 7x12' house way out in the lake the week before Christmas. The fishing has been steady and between the slush and snow drifting over the plowed roads I just keep tellin' myself that the conditions will get better. I know I should have been maintaining a plowed road all along but the roads have been drifting in so fast that I've been pulling a sled in the last 1/2 mile or so. The guys who normally plow roads out there have been reluctant to go off the main roads because of slush. If we don't get a warm spell and then a re-freeze by the end of the month well, it sucks to be me.

It was looking good Dec.23rd, 14" of ice and very little snow on top. By Jan 1 we had 24" of snow on top and then the slush came.

I use portables only, some of the big ones are pretty comfortable and roomy .

So glad that the closest I come to owning a 'permanent' shanty is the key to my buddy's place. Even that is now safely parked in his driveway. Portables from here on in.

That sounds like a bad deal Arlo. Hope you can rescue it soon. Wish I was closer so I could help out. For me it would be an adventure.

Hang in there. Conditions will change. Perhaps a few wheelers can help.
