Andrew, The last day I checked was Saturday (8th). Drove the Ranger with tracks from my house to the Van Vac Landing, and found many areas with a double layer of ice and/or slush. Went to Brownell Island where there was 15 inches of clear ice. Next I followed the snowmobile trail back and went between Dollar Island and Long Island to an area I fish, drilled a hole, and only had 7 inches of ice. There was quite a bit of slush after leaving the snowmobile trail. With this said, vehicle travel is not advised with a car or truck, though I doubt that you could go anywhere with them. An ATV with tires will have a tough time going anywhere a snowmobile hasn't been to pack a trail. Snowmobile or walking will be your best bet. Plowing a road is out of the question, though I'm sure someone will be foolish enough to try it. We got about 2-3 more inches of snow today adding to the bad conditions, with more expected over the next 3-4 days. It's going to be several weeks before you can safely travel with a 4x4 truck.
