I have a trip coming up over labor day starting at Round Lake and ending in Ham Lake. Any suggestions as to fishing these lakes this time of year? We have a group of 8, with 6 of them being new to the BWCA, hence the easy route over 3 1/2 days which will give us plenty of time to day trip, and get some fishing in.

Don't forget to buy a trout stamp if you're gonna be fishing Missing Link...

WOnderful, thank you for the encouraging picture! Besides the spoons for the Northerns and some Meps spinners and Rapalas, what other types of lures/bait should we use?

Thank you for the reminder on the trout stamp. I had forgotten that part and will have to get one at the Tuscarora outfitters.

Panther Martins for the brookies. My color choice is a secret though.

Oh, Mr Barley, you are just trying to get me to help improve the economy by purchasing all of the varieties of Panther Martins, aren't you? Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, even without the color. I can't expect everything handed to me on a plate. Have you tried Mavis lake, just to the east of Missing link?
