I think a banjo minnow would be just fine up in the bw. For my money though a weightless fluke or slugo has the exact same proven action. A Senko can also duplicate the action but can even produce more strikes on the fall than the others. Down side is the senkos tear up quickly. This kink of fishing is highly productive, but in the bw those fish are not wise,"usually" and will bite a well run crank just the same. It takes more knowledge and the great sixth sense of feel to fish soft plastics,my experience is that it is rarely needed up there. That is the great fun of being up there and experiencing good fishing.

I used them about ten years ago and with success. The problem is you are limited on the number of baits you have. I think it was four of each color and size. If you are on a five day or longer trip you can run out of the right color and size fast.

Banjo Had provided o success In the past for bwca. Not sure Why but I bought the entire kit. Worthless. You can have it!!! lol. Spoons/shads/jigs!!! Old fashion success.... bring those. You will catch tons... Also leeches and crawlers.... But banjo (atleast for me and the group I go with) never anything. Atleast nothing to be proud of.

My brother bought the kit a few years ago. We went fishing together on a local lake near Cincinnati and KILLED. One of the best bass fishing days ever.

But since then, almost nothing! I have no idea why.

Haven't used them in a long time, but I had success with them back in the day for largemouth bass.

Does it play the theme from 'Deliverance'?

They are very effective but the problem with the Banjo Minnow is the hook is in front of the lure. The fish has to take the whole bait in it's mouth or hit it from the head 1st. Also, the hooks are thin and not very strong. I did catch a lot of large mouths on them but lost many as well.
