Now that we are almost there, what do folks think?
Typically, minnows are recommended because the water is too cold for leeches.

But this year, Memorial day is later than normal and the ice went out much earlier.

Also, I'd rather take leeches because they are more hardy and I've had great luck fishing with them.

So, is the water warm enough for leeches?

If I was going with live bait this year with the way the weather has been it would be leeches and crawlers.
