I'm looking at basecamping there. What did you catch in the past couple years?

I have had mixed success on Winchell. In early June you should still be able to snag some Lakers without going to deep. I like blue and silver Tail Dancers(the bigger ones). I would consider tying on a couple of feet of 25# fluorocarbon leader, there are some big Pike in there.

Make sure to climb the cliffs on the south shore for some nice views.

We just passed through in late May a few years back, but from my discussions with others, it's a big-fish lake more than a numbers lake. Low population densities with a chance for a good-sized brute.

As Arlo noted, you may have some success with lakers shallower, assuming a regular spring & the water still being cold.
