I will be out there as well Mid Sept... As always an amount of leeches will accompany me and I have my small arsenal with of lures. but anyone have any good info on either that lake or Lac La Croix?

We had a great time on Ramshead and were only there a day. The day included a 36" and a 40" northern plus 5 others over 30". We spent the rest of the week on Agnes and were disappointed by the fishing there, and on Lac La Croix. Just my two cents. Maybe Mort isn't a northern fan. When I go back next year, we're definitely spending 2 days on Ramshead instead of the one.

We were there first week of June. Water was cold and we fished slow with spoons, bucktails and big X-raps. Not sure if I can provide any advice for this time of year... I would give the SW bay a shot to see what's happening there, but we seemed to hit the bigger ones on rocky points. Lots of big boulders for cover. Red/White and Yellow 5 of Diamonds or Gold were the hot colors then. Hope that helps.

I just got back from Agnes. I marked a few fishing spots on the bwca.com map.
For September, I would try to fishing spot on the bwca.com map.
- The deep water structure by three point sites
- The water around the rocks just outside the bay
- The moving water below the falls on the 25 rod portage to the boulder river
In fact, I'd try all the moving water on the north end of the lake.

Just got back from 16 on Sunday, water levels were higher than they were 2 years ago. There are a couple of beaver dams that you'll have to lift over, but we never were dragging on the bottom.
As for fishing, walleye bite was great until a storm one night and then they shut off. Fished the same spot, the same time of day, the same bait, the same depth, and where I caught 10 fish one day I didn't get a bite the next.
We got SKUNKED in fish stake narrows, minus a couple decent pike. No eyes, no smallies. I could hardly believe it.

Also just got back from 16 on sunday! We had great weather, maybe a bit windy but nice! Fishing was great i thought, jig and a twister combo caught 'eyes and crappies. Crapies were a huge surprise and we had some good ones! Rivers were navigable with a decent load and you will need to jump a few beaver dams until this spring when the high water washes them out:)
