I've been to the Moose lake chain and Basswood in early May several times but I now I have the opportunity to fish these lakes for only a couple days next week after a business trip to Duluth. I've read a lot of great, informative tips in past seasons prior to my early spring trips. I was wondering if I could get some tips for walleye or large pike this time of year?

For large pike, use outlandishly large lures fished about twice as fast as seems reasonable. Really push it. Never fails in August.

Any suggestions for walleye? I've read a lot about Lindy rigs - are these always used along the bottom? Do you fish the bottom this time of year or are the walleye generally suspended? I'd appreciate any advice.
