Might try a swedish pimple with enough weight & line out to get it to the 50' to 75' depth.

Theres plenty of trout guys on this site, probably just have missed your post, use jigging spoons. airplane jigs or ciscoes on the bottom, you should do alright, they are deep that time of year, good luck on the lakers, and just a tip, get a fish basket for cooking them over an open fire, trout are kinda of an oily fish and the open fire seems to seal in those juices, man im making myself hungry, have a good one kid !!!

I usually fish with 6 lb test, is it going to be hard to get such light line down so deep? Ive seen they use what they call 'lead line', I would hope thats not necessary.

Ive caught them in early spring when they are shallow on Daniels, very tasty, some might say better than walleye.

Do you need a special license if you are going to fish for trout in the bwca???

pdidy, you only need a trout stamp if you are fishing for trout or lake trout or are on a designated stream trout lake.

I agree.
You will need a trout stamp to fish on a designated trout lake or stream, whether you have a trout in posession or not.
You will need a trout stamp on a body of water that has lake trout in it, only if you have one in your posession.

Fished for lakers last weekend. Water is still "Really" cold and fish were shallow. We caught all our fish on shadraps and taildancers size 7. We trolled the whole time thanks to my trusty trolling motor tg. Fish were caught in 20-30 feet of water. I agree with kk take what you've got and you should be fine.

Anybody try the crazy spinner menagerie of a "cowbell" for lake trout?
