What are the best colors patterns for baits in mid june. I will be in lakes around the Sawbill area, fishing for whatever will bite.

Thanks

Leeches are black and dark brown and minnows are usually silver and shiny.

I'm afraid to say much, because which color works best always seems fairly random to me. Just keep trying different colors and see what works for that moment; that's sorta my pattern.

OK... but I've been to Sawbill 3 times, and as I recall some variation of a black/gold or black/silver lure shallow-diving lure gave me the best luck. Trolling behind the canoe, mostly.

By no means would I call myself an expert on those lakes (or fishing) though.

mmclain6101,
Last June we had great luck with black and white lures...
original Rapalas and poppers.

If you are using crankbaits, sorry TGO, the best color is often the color of the one crankbait that is tuned the best and runs the truest.

I always catch the most on balck and gold Rapalas. That might be because I have the most confidence in that pattern so it gets fished the most...

Dark colors on dark days, light colors on bright days.
