First trip into BWCA Jun14-Jun20. Entering at EP-16. We don't have a full plan yet. Probably stay on Agnes the first night, then make are way up to Lac La Croix and do day trips from whatever site we decide on. Are there any lakes we should day trip to? I am targeting smallmouth, walleye and a lake trout. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to bwca.com! Spend some time searching through the Trip Planning forum, Trip Reports, and probably in Listening Point, too. You'll find lots of comments made about this popular entry point and points beyond. Obviously, you'll be stopping to gawk at the pictographs on LLC. Lake Agnes is one of my favorite walleye lakes and I hope to be on them there one month from today.

Personally, I’d get an early start, paddle through Agnes, and camp a few days on LLC or Iron. Spend the last night or 2 on Oyster chasing trout. There are trout in LLC, but I haven’t caught any on the East end. There is decent fishing on Nina Moose and Agnes, so I troll all the way through them.

Another vote for Iron! Stay in Tiger bay and day trip into Iron.
Just use the search function and type in Iron fishing. Great lake for fishing and beauty!

It's good to have a plan but also just go with the flow. If the wind comes up or storm rolls in, be happy for whatever lake you're on. There are fish in them all.

But as mentioned, Oyster for trout. They're in LLC but that big of a lake....good luck for that species. You'll do fine on the others.

I've had more walleye and crappie luck on Agnes than anything else. LLC and Iron for smallies and everything.
