We have one or two potential spots available on a Sutton River brook trout trip from July 30 thru Aug 10. For those of you unfamiliar with this river, it is probably the premier sea run brook trout river in the world. Almost all the fish are in the 18' to 24" range, and you can expect to catch hundreds. It flows through Ontario's Polar Bear Provincial Park into Hudson's Bay. Eighty miles of class I and II river with NO portages. There are currently 4 of us on the trip, and we are looking to add one more canoe. Each of us have been on the river multiple times, so we know the river well. The trip leaves out of Hearst Ontario, and the expense is for the float plane trip and canoe use. With the exchange rate what it currently is, NOW IS THE TIME TO GO. We prefer fly fishermen. A bucket list trip for the right person. Let me know if you might be interested.

Did the trip last year. Great time. Is Stu leading you guys? Or self guided?

Self-guided

Self-guided is the way to go. Paul and I had a great time last year doing this. And for alot cheaper that what Stu would charge. No need for a guide IMO. The fish are everywhere. :)

What is the approximate cost?

Currently the cost for the float plane and canoes is about $2650 pp (US), plus a share of the food cost that we bring. You would also have to figure the cost of getting to Hearst and a couple motel nights. Actually, for a 12 day trip of this caliber fishing, it's a bargain.

I did this trip with a group of 4 last year, and had a great time.

Do you canoe down the river and change camps or are you at one base camp?
Pretty fish.

I might be interested, have done several wilderness trips in CA including a trip down the Keezhik (a trib of the Albany) for Brookies. Timing should work. Need more info. I would only do this if I can bring my fishing buddy of many trips, so that would be for 2. Please advise. Jerry G
