Fee season at all fee campgrounds mid-May thru mid-October in Superior National Forest

Date(s): May 4, 2016 - Sep 30, 2016

Fees will be collected at all fee campgrounds from mid May until mid-October when water systems will be shut down. See campground pages for the status of individual campgrounds.

I know this is true out west in National Forest campgrounds also. I assume camping is allowed at most unless posted otherwise at campground sites?

Anybody know status of campgrounds along the Superior national forest if some are closed or not to all camping after these dates?

We stay at Lake Jeanette in the fall after it is "closed". The water stand pipe still works, the toilet buildings are open but there is no cleaning or garbage service. AND - no fees.
The sign read: "Free camping, Water System is closed for season, No garbage."

Carely state park is closed for reservations, I wonder if you can still camp their since white water is booked solid for the next few months on every Friday night. I guess I could call them
