Yes. Wow! What a great story. I could not imagine how gut wrenching it would be to watch your dog vanish into those falls.

I can just picture the horrible feeling when he is on the leash and falls into the crevice and I can just see the struggling, than he slips off the leash . Brings you to tears.

X2!!! We already are dreading the day when our current dog passes. He is the most needy, people person and affectionate dog we've ever had. I feel bad for my youngest daughter on that day, she will be so traumatized.

I'm so happy for such a great ending. Thanks to all outfitters, etc. that helped out and got this family back together. Love it!!

Wow, that's a long way for a dog to venture after that ordeal. Heck of a story and sounds like they were happy to tell it

Time to discuss the fact of life and death with your daughter so it is not that big of shock

Anyone have a picture of Rebecca falls they would mind sharing? Never been there before, does anyone know of this spot that they were "leaping" over?

that so many people would go out of their way to help out a lost dog makes me feel a bit better about folks in general.

Not sure who had the leash when the dog fell but there would be a lot of guilt if it was me holding the leash. Glad it's all good now. It's pretty cool that the dog swam out to three islands from the mainland to the people that found him. Smart dog knew he had to get to them.

Great story, and great people who helped out! I can just imagine Kali talking with her dog friends: "You wouldn't believe my vacation...."

It is a great story. Nearly another example of truth is stranger than fiction - just not sure it would have been as believable if it weren't a true story. Guess I'm the only one that raised an eyebrow on site seeing at Rebecca Falls with a BWCAW permit, and seeming like no Q permit, RABC, or passport.

I've read about this in a few different articles and still get choked up every time. Cannot imagine how they must have felt, and how scared that poor dog must have been. Williams & Hall posted this article on their Facebook page, it has a video of the reunion with Kali & her owner, so precious!
