That's one smart Mama Moose--not a wolf in site and there's probably at least one veterinarian in the crowd someplace. What beautiful animals!

I always come up with weird thoughts at all moments-is there any kind of ticks in Alaska that moose get?

No ticks in AK, snakes or turtles. I am loving the no ticks, that's one of the best things about being here. I will have to head back to MN in a few years, not looking forward to the ticks when I return. I miss the turtles however.

Skeeter's are no worse here than Ely country. But if you get to interior AK they are relentless.
