close to the bone on my left thumb, took a nice slice on the forefinger too. alcohol was involved, bad sawing technique was to blame though. no stitches, just 2 butterflies. stupid, stupid, stupid.

But your trip isn't for a few weeks. Shouldn't this have occurred a day or two before you take off?:)

Fast healing K

Happens to the best of us. Heal soon so you can paddle in a couple of weeks.

06/01/2013 10:51PM
Ouch. Did the same thing a few weeks ago.

id saved the Christmas tree for an epic burn this spring. was too windy tonight to do it in one shot so i was cutting it down branch by branch, little fireworks instead of one big one. lesson learned. but man, i would have loved to see the whole thing go up at once...i would have dragged up the garden hose for that. :)

I think the alcohol is more to blame than the saw

Saws should be outlawed from the bw. Axes are much safer! ;)

Portagekeeper - she still floats. And I thinks she handles with a load, better than she looks. Sorry for the hijack. Never drink and saw.

Okay, ban saws, but not chainsaws and especially not juggling chainsaws while running rapids while standing in a canoe, because if I can't do that, there's no point in going.

Hope you are fully healed by the time your trip starts. It a bummer taking an injury into the bush, almost as bad as sustaining one IN the bush...which seems to be more my style. 8-[

I did get my pointer finger once with a cheap multitool that didn't lock as advertised. Tossed it and drove to the hospital for my stitches.

Ha!
I fully agree! What would be the point in going if you couldn't do that!
