I've been in for Columbia 23 years, put two kids thru Mizzou and now have a grandson who lives here also. Looks like I'm staying. Orignally from NE Iowa, Cedar Falls. Maybe we Missourians should have our own "WingNite".

Former "Show Me" guy. Kansas City. Moved to Nashville a year before the Royals beat the Cards for their only World Series.
Maybe a wing nite/paddle in the Ozarks. Not such a long drive from Nashville.

We all have to believe in something. I believe I'll go paddle.

I grew up in Kirkwood, MO, and Des Peres. Now live in NW suburb of Chicago. Only rarely get to the St. Louis area any more. Only have been to Columbia twice. Once for a 1 week computer class at Mizzou in about 1969, and the other for the 1972 state basketball game between Kirkwood and Raytown. Sorry, no wingnite for me in in the ShowMe.

I am in Missouri and live just north east of Columbia. I have taken my son twice to the BW, and planning on taking my oldest daughter in 3 years. Otherwise, I live vicariously through folks on this b-board.

While I live in Wyoming now, I grew up just north of Columbia (I am like the 3rd or 4th to say that, are we neighbors?) We spent almost every summer near Grand Rapids, MN. My parents and brother still live in or around Columbia.

As a kid, I lived just across the River from St. Louis in Belleville, IL. Now in Springfield, IL. As for a wingnight, you Missourians should consider This One coming up May 18, 2012. If you have one in Missouri, I'd definitely show.

The river calmly flows, Through shining banks, through lonely glen, Where the owl shrieks, though ne'er the cheer of men Has stirred its mute repose, Still if you should walk there, you would go there again.

Never lived there, but once got a speeding ticket heading east just east of Springfield (on 44? in '88-89 I believe.). Friendliest cop that ever gave me a ticket. He was in a good mood, because he'd just caught me despite the fact I had a radar detector.

quote Georgiaboy: "Welcome to the SEC. Go Dawgs we will see you in Columbia Sept. 8th."
I am a long time Columbia resident. Rooting for the Tigers through good times and bad has become a habit. My Dad's family is from Climax, Georgia. The move to the SEC has made for some interesting family discussions.
Our regional airport has just announced that we will start having direct service to Atlanta this summer. I am sure this is a direct result of the move to the SEC.
Things will be interesting.

I live near St. Louis in Eureka, MO. There has been discussion about possibly doing a wing night at my camp in Eureka. We have cabins, ropes courses, and 300 acres of beautiful land to play on. I also have many canoes, vans and trailers with the Meremac River just a few minutes away. Expect to hear more in July or August on some potential dates. Great to see that there are so many with connections to Missouri. Would love to see all of you at camp in Fall!

Been busy with work and paddling. Born and raised on the Mississippi in Cape Girardeau, MO and now live in the eastern Ozarks near Piedmont, MO.
Bwoods, that sounds great. What's the name of your place? Never been on the Meramec since I'm closer to so many other rivers.

I hope I can make it. I was on the MR340 with you year before last. It would be great two swap MR and BW stories.

I hope you can make it as well. It's a small world. I am sure we will have lots to talk about. The MR340 was one of those life experiences that I will always remember and cherish.

You would be welcome to bring your camper we have plenty of open field space for you to park it. We do not however have water, or electric hookups for campers. We are a camp not a campground. You can stay in a camper or enjoy one of our cabins on the property.
I will work on some possible dates throughout the summer and post some possibilities to see when we can get the most people together.

Jason,I'd be interested in coming over in the fall. I looked at the Wyman website, looks like a great thing you're involved in.

quote Beaverjack: "Mizzou is joining the SEC next year. Maybe some real competition for Kentucky from the western division."
From what I heard, Kentucky is loosing its entire team to the NBA. Can't be right with that many fresh and sophs on the team. Besides, Misery is not much competition as far as the hawks are concerned, glad to see them go so we can get some better teams in the conf. LOL
Mizzu logo, "We can't beat em so we will leave!!!" They inherited it from Nebraska.
DON'T BE MAD, BE GLAD. . . You don't have to play KU any more!!

I don't know where you got this info, but you are way off track - Mizzou didn't leave because they can't beat anyone - they are looking to make an improvement in their competition and want a more stable situation than what has been going on in the Big 12. Mizzou-rah! lives on!

Sounds awesome.
Specially since I won't make it north this year.

This sounds like a good idea. My son lives in St. Clair. Keep us posted here on the board.

Hey everyone, I know I haven't been on here in a year or more, but with my next Boundary Waters trip a month out, figured I need to stop in and say hey. I live just west of St. Louis in Wentzville.

MOgirl checking in! I am from Stewartsville, MO. Whiteh20 and I graduated from the same high school in Maysville. We are close to St. Joseph, MO. I'd be interested in a MO wing nite but not necessarily near St. Louis. Sorry folks on that side of the state :)

It's what these trippers on this website use for a "get-together" to talk and such - a chance to share ideas, experiences. At least that's what I think - I've never been to one because they are up north most all the time.

yep, just a get together to meet people with the same interests. I've met/organized a few campouts on another forum and they are quite fun. Shoot the s*it, eat some great food and drink a few beers. Makes for quite an interesting weekend :-)

Hey everyone, like I mentioned before, I just bought a house in Wentzville, Mo. I'd be happy to host a wingnite/BBQ at my house. I have 2 guest bedrooms, one with a full size bed, as well as a couch or two, and plenty of space for air mattresses. If you really want, you're welcome to set up a tent in the yard. Mid to late July works best for me. Who's interested? respond on here, or email me at stephen.m.wilson@hotmail.com
Let's get together, eat some BBQ, and trade lies about the fish we caught in the BW.
