Once again there will be door prizes and a silent auction at the Fall Wingnight. This year’s proceeds will be donated to Amok’s Family.
Silent Auction-
• The Silent Auction will begin on Saturday sometime before the pot luck, and end sometime after the Pot Luck 3:30’ish?
• You must pay for auction items in cash or a check made out to "Palmer Fund"
• You must be present to participate.
Door Prize Tickets-
• Each person that attends will receive (1) ticket. (Make sure you look for the ticket person when you arrive so you are not missed!)
• Each person that brings a $ donation will receive (1) additional ticket.
• Each person that brings an item for the door prizes or auction will receive (1) additional ticket.
• There "may" be few extra tickets distributed to organizers and helpers. (1) Additional ticket per person.
• Tickets will be drawn as winners. (First one drawn gets first pick at prize table and so on.)
• The door prize drawing will immediately follow the auction.
• You must be present to win and you must take immediate possession of your loot.
Donations-
If you cannot attend and would still like to donate an item for the door prize and/or auction, feel free to drop me an e-mail and I would be happy to send you my address if you would like to mail it to me.
I am also in the Minnetonka/Eden Prairie (Western Suburbs) area every weekday afternoon if you would like to arrange a drop. Again, just shoot me an e-mail and we’ll figure out a place to meet.
This spring we raised more than $600 to help support this great community. Let’s see if we can top that this fall!
ALL donations (Big or Small) are greatly appreciated!

You can send it to me if you want.
...but it would be better if you deliver it in person at wingnight! :)
Hope you can make it!
You too Nola!

Many Thanks to all who have donated so far! We have some pretty neat stuff coming in.
Remember, if you can't attend but would like to donate, it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if you are attending and bring an item for the action or door prize, you get an extra ticket! :)
Thanks again!

Sleepnbag, if I do not bring my little daughter to wing night I will be happy to be an auction assistant.
Now I have to think of something to donate....
I may have some tickets lying around, but haven't found them after the move just yet. I do have name tags that I will bring. Plenty of them.

I have read your thread in the camping recipes and I for one would love the idea of trying a few of your meals. I think it's a good idea!

Plan on more leather-stuff! Always a joy to be giving.

I would like to donate a CCS 10 X 10 1.5 Sil. Never used. Never opened. Color is Green.
I have two caveats:
Opening bid must be at least $50.
It is stored with my gear in South Dakota and I may not be able to ship it until November. I will pay shipping to the winner.
This was inspired by Ron's generosity. Giving away CCS gear is not in my DNA, but I know the family can use all they help they can get.
Let me know if this will work and the winning person has my personal promise they will get it.

Just a couple quick questions.
Anything being donated goes to sleepnbag or kanoes when I get there correct?
Does everything have to be brand new or can some gently used stuff be donated for the auction?
The opening post stated over $600 was raised this past spring to support this great community. Other than Phil's family this time, what would the money be used for? Groupsite rental? Superbowl party? Keeping the server operating when overloaded? Just curious.

"Gently used" items are welcome. -Camping and canoe related items seem to be the most popular:)
Any donation item can be brought to kanoes, sleepnbag, sleepnpad or Skilletmary...Think Nola said she may be availible to help as well??
It is my understanding (Someone correct me if I am wrong...Diva?) that the only other expense the money raised at the event "may" go towards (Other than the Palmer Family) would be to cover the cost of the group site. However, there will be a separate "Donation" jar specifically for that, so the hope is; that jar will earn enough monies on it's own.)

Yes, I can help for sure as I will not be responsible for any little children. Suggestion...stick a piece of masking tape on your item with your username so we can properly credit the donor. I admit I might get confused about who gave me what!
If I'm really good, I'll try to remember to bring a roll of tape for this purpose. ;-)

i have a box of odds and ends that you can look thru at wingnite and decide if they are worthy, yard sale quality stuff.paddling gloves,a solo sun shower, books, old fishing maps, gun locks-no joke-a couple big lures and some old ones.i'll also have a big box of old candles that folks can dip into for fire starter wax and a few tubes of those glow bracelets for the kids.
it's just a level trail thru the woods.

Sweet, because it sounds like we will have a big one going, and it's hard to remember details. At least it is for me. ;-)

quote Bang: "I would like to donate a Rod Sentry for the silent auction. I do not know if I will be able to make it to Wing Night. I live in Hopkins. Is there someone I could deliver it to who is going?"
Get in touch with sleepinbag. He works in the area and maybe could help you out.

Sleepnbag, do you know what you are doing for the bidding sheets? I ask because I might have the form that I used last time around here if that would be helfpul to you. But basically it's just a page with columns, one for the person's name and the other for the bid amount. On top goes the item's name/description and who donated it. You can either have pre-made ones for items that you know will be in the auction, or you can just write them all in at the event (which is what I did last time).
I didn't set a time (as in duration) for the auction last time, but maybe that's a good idea. Say 45 minutes? Depends on how many items there are, I suppose....

I can help with picking this item up for the winner as I travel to Sioux Falls most weeks. Let me know Rob. I will be there later this week.

This is correct. Someone mentioned another idea that may come into play for the donation jar. Stay tuned for more details. We will try to raise the funds for the campsite separately so we can donate as much as we can to the Palmer Family.
I believe they also have sheets already made Nola. The sleepin' family has been very organized. This is gonna be way too much fun!

I committed to bringing two Norlund axes for the silent auction. I will not be bringing Norlunds as I simply do not have enough time to get them in the condition that I would want to puchase them. I will however be bringing two new Snow and Nealy axes for the silent auction. If someone is really interested in the Norlunds I will finish them at some point and will sell them with the proceeds going to the cause.

quote sleepnbag: "• You must pay for auction items in cash."
Really? Given that we won't know the full list of items that will be there, it seems hard to guess an amount of cash to bring, and it seems a bit silly to carry around a bunch if you don't win the item. Would you consider checks?

I believe I took some checks last time, made out to the website or Adam (can't quite remember). But I realize this time the funds are going to another purpose. Can they be made to the Palmer Fund, like in the AMOK memorial fund thread?
