Been going to the boundary waters for years with a nice, but very heavy kayak. Time to rent a kevlar canoe! Which outfitter do you suggest? Whats the cheapest way to rent one?

once you choose your entry point, see which outfitters are close by and contact them, or there is a listing on this site of outfitters.

I have had good luck with Mike and Lin at Rockwood. That would be EP's for Lizz, Swamp, Meeds, 47-ish. Lots of Kevlar and great people.

I'm sure there are a bunch of other outfitters that would fit your bill also.

As noted, you obviously don't want to rent from an Ely outfitter for a Gunflint entry, so once you decide on an entry, see which outfitters service that area and check their websites, call them up.

I too can highly recommend Mike & Lin at rockwood. They have always taken very good care of me, and they are fun people to chat with as you are heading in or out of the BWCA.

If going out of Ely, give Voyaguer North a try. John & Lynn are great folks to work with. Look for Voyageurnorth screen name onm this board.
