On the night before our BW trip last month, we had a zipper failure on our tent door. Much consternation and gnashing of teeth resulted, along with a mad dash back to Ely to pick up a smaller, over-priced replacement before the stores closed.
My question is this: Do you stuff your tent and sleeping bags with the zippers zipped or unzipped?

i leave the bottom of both doors unzipped. not sure if it really helps but it seems to let the air out faster when i roll it up so i dont get such a big balloon when i get to the end of rolling.

Wait...this doesn't have anything to do with prom dresses???
Bags unzipped, tent screen zipped, door and window cover I leave one zipper open to allow air out.

Sleeping bags zipped
Tent not zipped"
The opposite. :)
Sleeping bag unzipped Nice to have it open and not worry about being able to get in it when needed.
Tent zipped. Keeps the bugs out when erecting the tent.

Unzipped.
For the sleeping bag I don't think it would matter to me one way or the other. Where ever it was when I exited that morning. I honestly don't give it a second thought.
The tent I leave unzipped simply for the fact that the air inside the tent can escape easier as I'm rolling it up. So it will roll up tighter.

We leave the bags unzipped, easier to stuff and the tent screen zipped, door partially zipped to let out hot air,
Was told to keep mine zipped to keep in the hot air, haha

Now that was funny!
Tent zipped for it has plenty of mesh.
Sleeping bags about 1/4 zipped. Just enough that I don't have to worry about starting a zipper after a long day on the water.

Zip protects the zipper. You won't run into as many zipper problems if you keep it zipped. Try to buy equipment with at least a #10 Zipper, bigger, stronger, faster, better. The movie "There's Something about Marry" keeps coming to mind
