Made it home about 9pm last night.
Here is a quick little report EP 14-16.
We saw temperatures from 28-72 degrees (was below freezing 4 nights). Wind bound one day. After two different storms I got to open portages. Also had sleet for about 20 minutes one night. Had a visitor one night but all they did was took their constitution in the middle of the camp site. 10 days and we both got one skeeter bite, and neither of us put on any bug spray during the trip. Didn't see any ticks.
Shell Lake – fishing was very good. Did not seem to matter what you used. The best was either a leech or a SR 5 – perch color. Caught walleye, small mouth, northern, and perch. Walleyes were all 14” – 18” length.
Hustler Lake –Fish good here also. Not as many walleye, but good bass and northern.
Oyster Lake – First portage had to open. About 15 rods of the portage was under water knee deep. Had three trees down and had to get the saw out. Weather changed and could not buy a fish. Had talked to several others and they said you will catch Lake Trout from shore or by trolling. We then tried going out deeper and vertical jigging and more trolling but no luck. Did catch a few nice small mouths here.
Agnes – Had large tree fall on portage coming from Oyster and had to take an hour to get a path cleared. It was one time that I wish I had a bigger saw than the 15” Sven. Saw 2bygreencanoe. Fishing really picking up again. Best lure was SR7 – Blue, Chrome, and Orange. Fishing the river between Agnes and Nina Moose was very good.
Nina Moose – Fishing good. Still best bait was SR7.
Moose River – Two beaver dams that we had to pull over and one sand bar.
Need to get back to the cleanup chores now.

Like the others said, thanks for clearing the portages. It sure has been windy! I had to clear a couple trees on a portage a little outside the BWCA. I'm amazed you only got one skeeter bite, they've gotten a little thick at times of late.
