fishguts

no guts, no glory
that's the way it goes
i'm sure you've heard the story
almost everybody knows

you've got to pay the price
if you want to eat the meat
from your coveted walleye prize
the taste that can't be beat

first, you cut the sides off
and then remove the ribs
next, slice the skin off
for perfection, you've made your bid

and when the fillets are on the griddle
sizzling delicously in the oil
don't forget the fishguts
the sublime remains, of this dinner's toil


for fishguts...and i'm not sure why
guy's too darn cheerful all the time-bugs me a little bit...
keep smilin' kid!
