Every inch of the BWCAW is a blessing and should be treasured. But I'm guessing we each have an special area or lake within the b-dub that stands out as one of extraordinary beauty and scenery.

Which is it for you?

The BWCA and Quetico are so beautiful it's impossible to pick one photo.....here's an old one from 1991

For me, I'll never forget my first drive up the Gunflint in the fall of 1995. The views across the Hungry Jack Lake (I believe it was) was the most gorgeous site this city boy had ever seen. Like an eager walleye, I was hooked.

This morning on Gabimichigimi Lake- after days of rain and high winds was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.

There are a lot of them! But here's the most recent. It's the Mountain Lake overlook on the Border Route trail just north of Clearwater.

just after a rain on Ogish and the wife and I sat and watched the clouds break for more than four hours until sun went down. The sky and refection on the water just kept changing over and over with so many spectacular variations. Then the stars came out! It was my first trip to the BWCA and I will never forget it. what a show! truly a once in a life time experience. tom

I think the real beauty is in the uniquiness of the BWCA. There is just no other place on earth like it.

Breathtaking?, ...that would have to be the first-time view atop Warrior Hill on LLC.

- not seeing people or buildings for days
- sunrises and sunsets in the BW
- Cherokee Lake in the fall
- Kekekabic Lake cliffs
- View from where the Kek fire tower used to be
- Seeing Tuscarora from an elevated view during the tough portage from Missing Link - knowing you are almost there.
- The landing after paddling for 3 straight hours
- a plate full of lake trout and rice after a long day on the water

I could go on and on - but everything looks better, tastes better, smells better, and feels better in the BWCA to me.

Some spots along the Sioux-Hustler Trail are really magical for me. I could have just stayed there forever. Like my son said, "You half expect a unicorn to step out from behind a tree."

Abso-frickin-lutely! I couldn't agree more. The box of vino I brought last year was AMAZING! Had the same stuff at home a week later....meh, no so much.

For me it's easy. Minnesota; aka, The way the sky looks upon the water.

My favorite place is Where the water turns to pure glass.

Seagull

I agree with the pure glass. The afternoon before this was white caps.

So many special places in the BWCAW for me. Seagull, Gunflint, Rose, Gift, Ester, Pine. But, my all time favorite has to be Rose. I don't have any "Jaw dropping" pictures of Rose, but Rose has that "Jaw dropping" affect on me. TW

MY first trip with friends and my nephew was outstanding. We had a amazing time and great weather. When my son was old enough to go I watched the magic in his eyes. He loves the outdoors and he respects the right to visit the BWCA. Looking forward to our June 6th paddle in at Mudro.

The landscape photos can be captivating.

There is also the small view.

Just for the record, both shots were taken on Ge-be Creek with an Olympus SW720. The closeup was heavily cropped.

A disproportionate number of my photos are of exactly this and similar flora.
