Does anybody have an Alps Zephyr tent? Do you like it?
I am looking to buy one for an upcoming trip, without spending a million dollars.
Any Suggestions?

Don't have that particular tent but I can recommend a tent my buddy bought a couple years back. Unless I can find something better this will be my next tent. It's a Eureka Pinnacle Pass 2A, what I like most about this tent is that the rain fly allows you to look outside rather than it being in the way.

If you want a rain fly that will offer you more coverage then buy the Pinnacle Pass 2XTA tent which has the option of a full rain fly cover over the door.

BTW, questions like this are usually reserved for the gear forum area but I'm sure you will get some recommendations.

I have the Zephyr 3 peson, purchased in 2007. It started out as just my backpacking tent, but has become my primary tent for all outings. I like it for the weight and packed size as well as the twin vestibules and doors. The triangular area on top of the fly will hold water when it rains, so care must be taken when exiting the tent. I have been very happy with it overall, and especially for the price.

I have a ALPS Mountaineering Zephyr 1.0 1. It is a solo tent that I like a lot. I have taken it on several BWCA trips and it (so far) has always stayed dry. I have no problems recommending it.

I'll second the Eureka Pinnacle Pass 2xta. I've got one and love it :) Went in for 8 days, it rained for 6 of them. I was bone dry the entire time.

2xta is 4lb 11oz. 36.5 sq. feet.

The 3xta is 5lb 15oz. and 48.75 sq feet.

I have the 3 and its worked great through 100+ days of hard use.
