When I arrived home from work on Monday there was a copy of the 2007 Voyageur Gazette which is a publication put together by John and Lynn of Voyageur North Outfitters in Ely. There are several great trip reports in the Gazette including one about their trip to the Gabbro, Bald Eagle Turtle Lake area to check out the fire damage from summer fire there. I was interested in that one because that area was where our first-ever BWCA trip took place. The other ones are about Lynn and her female friend's trip up around Mudro, Horse Lake etc. Yet another story is about John and Lynn's trip with their two granddaughters in and around Fourtown. I enjoyed learning that Tin Can Mike Lake got it's name from Tin Can Mike Murphy who kept a tin can attached to his belt for a drinking cup years ago. Thanks Lynn for mailing me the Gazette. I'm going to stay in your bunkhouse again next season just to make sure I get the 2008 Gazette from you.
