Thanks for the response. I am a summer resident and have always got great service at Skubes, Cory or Terry would always open at 5Am if asked. What are TGO summer hours, going to be looking for a new bait shop.

Summer hours about 5:45 am-7 or 8 pm, Mon thru Sat. 6 am-4 or 5 pm on Sunday. Can be there earlier if I know someone needs bait.

I always liked that shop...just had to hold my jacket over my head when I walked out with my leeches and minnows, so John & Lynn wouldn't look out the window across the street, recognize me and think of me as some kinda traitor!

Been going to Skubes since I was a kid on family vacations to Silver Rapids lodge back in the late 60's. Back then I think there was only one other bait shop in Ely and it was completely across town. Ah, those were the days...Skubes, the WELY fishing report, 10 cent pinball in the lodge....

Just got a call from Skubes, and the sale fell through, they will be operating the store again this season, good news for those who need their bait early AM.
