I know some of you on this board and I feel like I have a connection with many others that Ive got to know through your stories. This site is one that I look forward to coming to day to day. So with that being said Im going to make a request of all of you In memory of my Good friends Mike and Robin Moris of Pine City, who were killed by a drunk driver on New Years Day. Please if you drink dont drive, and please If your in a vehicle put on your seatbelt. The devastation that would be felt by your families is unbearable.

I'm sorry for your loss Brad. I endorse your comments and others about drinking and driving. In this day and age you can get a ride home from anyone, take a cab or even call the police if you can't make the first two options work and they will make sure you get home safe. No excuse for driving drunk

I'm sorry, Brad. Did the Morises have kids? It's bad for friends but worst for children. As for your request, I don't drive a car if I've had more than one beer and always wear my seatbelt. The motorcycle has an "absolute sobriety" rule.

I very sorry to read this, especially on a normally happy holiday. I know how you feel Brad as my wife's father was killed in an alchol related car accident in '92. My prayers go out to the family and friends.

I am so sorry for your loss Basspro69 as well as for the family of your friends.
I am also saddened for us as a society that we lose so many beautiful, talented, loving people in this senseless manner every year. It's my wish that this new year brings a stronger interest and effort in eliminating these tragedies.

Thanks so much everyone for your very nice comments and your support. There isnt enough space to tell you what kind of people died that day, but i will just say that you could meet a hundred million people to find a couple as loving, caring, and giving as Mike and Robin were, they would literally give you the shirts off their backs if you needed them, and their kids will have a hard time being able to deal with their loss. If just one person doesnt drive after drinking or just one person puts on their seatbelt and it saves their life, than their passing will not have been in vane. I try to take life one day at a time and a senseless loss like this just reinforces the fact that your not guaranteed tomorrow, so love each other today !

Geez, Brad, this thread really breaks me up. My Dad died in a car accident in 1966 - most likely due to a combination of beer and fatigue - and left six kids, with me as the 2nd oldest. I thought we had it bad - and I don't mean to make it about me - but those kids have just lost both of their parents. How much worse can it get? My heart goes out to them. How many kids and how old? Is there a foundation or trust fund of some sort? Any way to help at all?

Koda they had at least two kids that ive met both in their twenties, thanks for asking, and like Mike use to always say to me, hug your kids. Thats his trust fund, hug your kids ! p.s. They will also be survived by many many goats, chickens, cows, horses, cats, dogs, man did they love animals !!!
