Welcome back! Looking forward to a trip report. Was nice to meet you and your family :)

thanks everyone!
Tony, the food was AWESOME. On the last night we made pizza, and while it was really good, it was a pain in the butt and from now on I'm sticking to the freezer bag meals. We were really happy with them, they tasted great, and we had plenty to eat. Never hungry. There is even one of them that I want to make at home, it's so good. ;-)
We had a windstorm one night and two days of bad weather, and my rain gear turned out to be only "sprinkle" gear (meaning it sucked big time) and we were alone on Clearwater lake for two days during this time and it was different than I thought it would be. But I rocked the portages between Bald Eagle and Clearwater (twice) and feel great about that. Missed the kids much more than I thought I would. So there were some challenges, but we faced them all. The last day on Bald Eagle was really nice. We stayed on the fourth site up from the bottom of the lake on the east side, the one with the "walk-to" island. Very nice site. The clearwater site was great, too (thanks spotted owl). It has the most awesome tent pad I've ever had.
Detailed trip report to come, hopefully soon. Big thanks to GrampaMike for the "this isn't a portage" tip...we were totally just about to land the canoe and check it out. Too bad the maps for the Snake River are all wrong. And how long do you think that EP 84 portage is? It's definitely longer than the 171 rods that my map says it is.
