hey everyone, were puttin in at mudro on sat the 22nd of Aug. heading thru basswood to saturday bay. has anyone been there recently to give a good fishing report? and has anyone been able to use a dreaded cellphone in the crooked lake area? I hate to bring it, but due to a worrying wife,i sid i would if there as signal there.i have alltel/verizon.also has there been much bear activity in the area? Any recent info for the crooked lake area would be awesome! Happy trails!

Can't give much info on fishing etc., but I highly doubt you will get cell phone service on Crooked with Verizon or any plan.

I have heard some have gotten sporadic service on Fourtown, but my verizon usually does not work until I am coming down the hill on Echo trail next to Burntside. You could try to send a text and leave your phone on and get to as high a place as possible, but I'd be surprised if even that worked. You would do better with renting a sat phone or SPOT signaling device to communicate.
