A very talented individual, that IMHO crossed the line of reality. The wife thinks I'm being to harsh, but I think the world is better off. Is anyone else sick of the media coverage of the death of Michael Jackson?

Hey Dave, Thanks for pointing that out. I guess I'm wrong for seeking out the opinions of those that I respect. By the way, were you a fan of that white glove wearing freak?

Ditto what w_w_w_31 said... plus, love him or not, he was a talented person with children and a family.
To say the world is better off without him is quite rude and disrespectful. In the future, I would encourage you to keep similar rude thoughts to yourself.

I danced to his music in the '80s. What gets me is not much is being made of the fact that this guy was a pedophile. Sure, that was never proven, but then O J never murdered his wife either. I don't think my sentiments are rude, they are however meant to be disrespectful.

With the exception of necessary wars and truly evil people (Stalin, Hilter, Pol Pot, etc), how does death make the world a better place?
Whatever his sins may or may not have been, MJ is being judged for them now by someone far wiser than all of us. I doubt the man upstairs will care much if his only fault was being "different".
I'll let Michael Jackson's own words speak for themselves.

Well put gutmon. The King of Pop wasn't a blip on my radar screen. Of course I really felt the loss of the real King but Elvis was more my kind of music and soul.
Since I'm from WI I'll pick on my own team:
What did Michael Jackson have in common with the Milwaukee Brewers?
They all wear a glove on one hand for no apparent reason.

I kind of feel sad for the guy. A lot of talent and set the world of pop music on its ear, but went off into left field as a lot of people in the pop/hollywood worlds do. I hope none of the craziness matters to him anymore. Just Human like the rest of us.

i work in an assisted living home with the elderly and i feel.....people die every day...people that are mothers and fathers and sisters and brothers...people that made HUGE impacts in this world, altho most of them were never heard of...and their deaths are just as significant as michael jacksons. so why do we make such a big deal about him? granted, he had a lot of talent but he was a person just like the rest of us...he just happened to be in the spotlight. that doesnt make him any better than us....in the eyes of God. thats whats important.

Im not going to judge him thats up to the creator to decide, but what i do know that whether he did or didnt do the things hes accused of, hes still someones son, someones brother, and a human being, theres just too much hate in the world, it makes me sad sometimes. Dont mourn for him, mourn for his family, and the families of the people that he may, or may not have hurt..

He was talented. Is a celebrity’s death bigger news than say, a crazy dictator in some third world country testing nuclear devices, long range missiles, and publicly threatening the United States? Is a celebrity’s death bigger news than a possible civil war in a large partially radical Islamic country?
Probably not, but that’s not as profitable news.
Just one more reason I don’t own a TV.

The only thing I KNOW is that I enjoyed his music. I also HEARD a lot of other stuff but I don't necessarily believe what I hear and read in the news since that stuff is simply someone else's opinion.
I won't bash him either because doing so could only happen if I believe the opinion of others.
