23rd Psalm paraphrased

The Lord is my wilderness Guide, I have no worries on rough waves.

He makes me lie down on a bed of soft pine needles in the forest shade.

He leads me beside glassy lakes; He restores my soul and gives me new

purpose.

He leads me through each rough portages for His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the mud and stumble over roots and rocks, I fear no

evil

For You are with me; Your paddle and hiking stick they comfort me.

You prepare nourishment around the campfire in the presence of bears and gray

Jays.

You anoint my head with mosquito repellant.

My cup overflows as I absorb Your love and the beauty of Your creation

Surely peace and thankfulness shall follow me all the days of my life.

And I shall dwell in Heaven’s canoe country for eternity.

Amen.
