I just saw that and can't believe it. Who would've thought...
Now they just have to find someone for him to throw to. Oh, and it's a good thing he knows how to run too.
Yes, I'm a Bears fan. It will be a fun season for sure.

Geesh. Bengal Fan. Used to go to Riverfront and sit on Steeler side and root for Anderson's crew. Ushered out once. :) Ah the days of foolish youth. Now its depressing. A good friend who now does the evening sports on Cincy TV was there. (Lonesome George) Those were the days. Anderson took a beating though. PAUL Brown was a football man but...........oh well. :) oth

OTH, how many times have you endured the replay of Montana's "drive"? That must be painful.
Thank God they don't show highlights of Rex Grossman flopping all over the field losing the snap in the Superbowl against the Colts. Sheesh.

I've been a diehard Bears fan for as long as I can remember and I'm not so sure this was the best deal. I'm not saying they would have gone that far with Orton, but he seemed to be a lot more level-headed than Cutler. But, dang!, I would have never expected Jerry Angelo to pull of a deal like this in a million years. I just hope they didn't mortgage the future for this guy.

1. it's a start
2. they are still the bears
3. what your team really needs is to get rid of the idiotic family running your beloved "monsters of the midway" into the ground for the last however many years!
I am proud too say that I am from Chicago, however the only team that I fully support "NOW" is the HAWKS, and it is entirely because that criminal wertz kicked the bucket!!!

1. I'll second that on Wirtz.
2. The bears have never gone after a franchise player in their lives.
3. This move finally shows that angelo is afraid of losing his job.
4. With the signing of Brown, and Pace, they are shoring up the blocking and giving Cris Williams some time to blossom.
5. Now they can address the reciever position in the draft.
6. They have also aquired a very good DB from tampa.
7. IT still would be great if the Mckaskeys got the hell out of town.
8. They have quite a few pieces in place to make a good run at the playoffs, but they still need a little defensive help.
9. They also need a new head coach. Lovie is a good guy but i do not like his candy ass style.
10. IT WAS THE RIGHT MOVE TO MAKE!
Orton was going nowhere, the first round pick they gave up this year was the 18th and when they make the playoffs next year the first round pick whould be in the middle 20's. Besides Angelo does not know what to do with first round picks anyways. GOOD JOB BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Later Crutch

Why is we have turds for owners in Chi-town? Wirtz, Trib and Sam Zell(I know Zell hasn't been at the Helm long but the Trib still hasn't been a good owner), McCaskeys(I dread the day Virgina passes away and the reins are handed over to Mikey), and the ever so popular Reinsdorf. It's hard to decide what is worst or best in here?

1.Orton was a good QB,not great but a good leader, well liked and respected by the other players.
2. No QB can accomplish anything with the defensive line in your face,we need better Offensive line.
3. The defense last year couldn't stop, or even slow down anybodies passing game, many games were lost because of that one fact.

As a bear fan, all i can say is that if we made it to the superbowl with Kyle Orton as our QB, the rest of the league better take notice. (This is the point were you insert the grain of
salt!!!) Finally a respectable QB in Chi-town. Not to put down Orton, going into last season he was something like 10-4 as a starter with an appearance in the superbowl, not too bad when you are supposed to be a terrible QB. oh yeah, Orlando Pace is a nice addition too.

Toby, If you cut me, I'll bleed Green & Gold! The Bears have NO wide-outs (Hester couldn't catch a cold, muchless a football) and Cutler throws ALOT of picks. IMO Da Bears morgaged their future for a moody premadonna.

MrWalleye,
ROFL!!!! The Vikings can draft/sign all the top notch wr's they want. As long as Childress is your head coach and you keep failing to address the qb position. The Vikings will not do squat.....
Silverback,
The Bears paid what a 25 year old pro bowl qb is worth. As for no Wr's? The only good WR's Favre had in GB were Brooks, Driver, Rison, and Jennings in all his years in Green Bay. Good QB's make average wr's a lot better. Favre proved that....

Toby... I'm with you on everything you said about good QBs making average WRs better. But... did you forget about a couple of Favre's top shelf receivers named Sterling Sharp and Antonio Freeman?

I did forget Sharpe but I always thought Freeman average at best. Sharpe, imo was one of the best wr's to play game. If Freeman was on any other team he would never done anything close to what he did with Favre. I think Freeman only ended up with 3 1000 yard seasons....

I generally try to remain a positive person when ever i comment on this site, so let me stay positive now, Im positive that the bears will finish no better than second to last in this division, because they are a receiver a safety a defensive lineman a cornerback two offensive tackles a running back and a towelboy away from being good, now wasnt that positive.. VIKINGS RULE !!!!!

Wolf, Bradshaw is still out there to cup Favres.....
Bass, I think most Vikings fans are positive minded until the start of the football season. It just goes to hell after that....
