Allright, this is freakin' me out. Maybe someone can explain it for me. Try this little game and see what you think.

This is wild! I'm going to have to think on this one (and also send it to some of my smarter friends).

The result of the subtraction will always be a multiple of 9, since you're subtracting all of the ones and one tenth of the value in the tens place. Take a look in the gift table for all of the multiples of 9... 9, 18, 27, 36, etc. and the trick is easily seen. They put 11 in each column to break up the pattern visually.

Schweady- you're right! As I was lying in bed last night thinking about this it came to me- I thought about it and realized that the answer for any number picked in the 20's worked out to 18, in the 30's 27, etc. It does seem pretty amazing at first, though. I had a psych prof in college that was also a magician, and he used to do a trick every day in class and have us figure it out as a way to sharpen our critical thinking skills. I can't always figure things out as a result, but I always do look at "magic" with a critical eye.

Nice going Schweady. I knew there was a tangible answer but that was a good one. They also change what's in each box every time you try it so you appear to get different answers each time. They are verrry clever.

And here I thought it was a real physic phenomenon
